"If..."

The Book of Mormon is full of promises to us. And the Lord has guaranteed that every promise he makes will be kept. But something that I don't always seem to remember is the "if" part of the promise. Yes, God will keep his part of the bargain, but only if we keep ours. A prime example, I was just reading in 1 Nephi 7:12-13 which says "Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him. And if it so be that we are faithful to him, we shall obtain the land of promise..." It is all in that simple word. Let us never forget to live our part and fulfil the ifs in our lives.
